New owners of KSTF plan to have local presence
Gray Television Inc., which owns KOLN/KGIN TV in Lincoln, said Monday that they intend to have a local TV operation after reaching a deal to buy Yellowstone Television LLC, which owns several TV stations including KGWN TV in Cheyenne, which extends into Scottsbluff as KSTF TV.
Kevin Latek, Sr. Vice President of Business Affairs says it is "their absolute goal" to have a local presence in Scottsbluff. He says it will leverage off their other news operations around the state in Lincoln, Grand Island, Kearney and North Platte, adding "Scottsbluff has been underserved for way too long." Latek says they have no yettimetable for when the local operation would up and running.
Atlanta-based Gray owns and operates TV stations in 31 markets, including KNPL-TV in North Platte and several others in Nebraska.
The announcement comes less than a week after Duhamel Broadcasting sold KOTA-TV in Rapid City and its affiliated stations in Nebraska and Wyoming, including KDUH TV in Scottsbluff to Schurz Communications Inc.
